Smiles all around for the LADY TIGERS as they secure the Bi-District Championship last night beating West Sabine 98 to 10. We also recognized seniors, Ja'Tyrian Moore and Jordan Reese for their contributions to Tiger Basketball throughout their high school career. Our boys basketball team played their final game last night as well and took the win over Joaquin 69-57. Congratulations to both teams and we will share playoff information with you as soon as it is available!

Last week, all of our Tigers who earned their Tiger Lanyard 3 Six Weeks in a row were reeling with a trip to Gator and Friends. This a huge feat to earn this trip. All students have a chance to earn another trip starting with the 4th Six Weeks.

As the week comes to a close, just a few reminders for you as we head into the weekend: Best of luck to our Varsity Tigers as they are on the road to Beckville tonight to play the Bearkats at 6pm! Also, this evening at 6pm, Tenaha ISD will be hosting a play-in game for the 4th place in Girls District 23-AA between the Garrison Lady Bulldogs and the Shelbyville Lady Dragons. The gates will open at 5:15 for that game tonight. Monday, February 12th, is a Teacher In-Service Day and Student Holiday for Tenaha ISD; however, we will be hosting our first Girls Basketball Playoff game here in the SEC that evening as our very own Lady Tigers meet up with the Lady Tigers from West Sabine in the Bi-District Playoff Game tipping at 6pm. And now, in a schedule change, that will now be a DOUBLE-HEADER, with the Tigers now playing following that game at 7:30 in their final regular season home game vs the Joaquin Rams. Throughout the game, the Graduating Class of 2024 will be selling raffle tickets for $2 each for various prizes that they will be raffling off during half-time of the boys game. All proceeds will benefit Project Graduation 2024. The concession stand will be open serving a modified menu with catfish or chicken strip baskets with french fries for $8. Cash or card will be accepted.

Heroes come in all shapes and sizes...some are undeniable and you cannot miss them, and some you rarely ever see...slipping in quietly with their superpowers so effortlessly and perfectly that it fits seamlessly into our everyday lives, you may not even notice. I am a firm believer we have heroes among us each and every day, and this week in particular, we celebrate one very special hero that truly touches each and every person here at our school and beyond. She probably doesn't fit the typical "super-hero" look...although she'd make a cape look fantastic in any color! You won't find her tossing bad guys out of the way or saving people from a burning building...although again, I feel certain if she needed to, she would without hesitation. But, what you will find her doing, is constantly going out of her way to make sure everyone's day is just a little bit brighter because of her smile and positive attitude. She is a listening ear for anyone who needs it throughout the day, a shoulder to cry on or a voice of reason. She is a firm foundation for our students, guiding and preparing them for what lies ahead once they leave the doors of Tenaha High School, and works tirelessly to ensure that they all leave on the best path possible specifically for them. She spends countless hours all year long preparing our district for state required testing; educating and training not only our students so that they feel confident and ready, but also working with our staff so that they are adequately prepared to implement strategies all year long to aide in helping get our students where they need to be as well. She works alongside our administrators throughout the year and summer to create the student schedules and continuously tries to improve the daily environment for both students and teachers throughout the school year. DId I also mention she is our PROM coordinator also?!? As you can see...this list is almost never-ending. The amount of hats this superhero wears is a superpower in and of itself! But, she never loses her cool, never loses her sweet smile and friendly voice...and we are all better humans because we have Mrs. Stacie in our lives!!! Happy National Counseling Week, Mrs. Stacie!! But, you should be celebrated all year long for everything you do...not just this week! We couldn't do it without you!

If you have your current NFHS subscription, you will be able to catch all of tonight's festivities happening in the SEC on the NFHS Network. However, if you do not have a subscription or you would like to check out our newest venture, go to: https://fan.hudl.com/usa/tx/tenaha/organization/13994/tenaha-high-school to check out the Tigers and Lady Tigers on Hudl TV presented by Tiger Media. This is the first game we have streamed from Hudl TV, so we ask for your patience in the event there are glitches, etc. We will eventually be moving all streaming to this platform, but are just in the beginning phases of setting this up as of right now. When you go to the Hudl TV/Tenaha High School site, you will select the sport you wish to watch (Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, etc.) and it will take you to a landing page for that sport. It will have previous highlights if they are available as well as the broadcasted game(s) for the evening. We hope you enjoy this new feature!
