Good Rainy Morning TIGERNATION!! We hope everyone is staying safe at this time and pray you all weather the storms well. Sunshine is on the way and our THS Varsity Cheerleaders will be spreading some sunshine of their own this Saturday!!
Please come out and let the cheerleaders do the "cookin" for you this Saturday, June 8th as they will be serving BBQ Chicken plate lunches that include BBQ Chicken, beans, potato salad or potato chips, bread, BBQ sauce and a water ALL for just $12!!! All proceeds will benefit the Varsity Cheerleaders and their endeavors this upcoming school year!

STUDENT REGISTRATION for the 2024-2025 School Year is NOW LIVE!! As we mentioned earlier this year, registration has moved ONLINE. ALL STUDENTS attending Tenaha ISD will have to complete the registration process, which has TWO PARTS!! There are also dates and times listed for each grade level and when you can come to the school for assistance if needed or available devices for your convenience.

That's a wrap! As we finished our last day of the 24/25 school year at TES, we wanted to end with a special positive office referral for Mrs. Gloria Swindle who is retiring after giving 25 years of service to TISD and Tenaha Elementary. Our staff hopes you enjoy your spa day because you deserve it! Thank you for all you have done for our students over the years. We love you!
We are going to miss our 6th graders next year as they head across the road and become junior high students! Ms. Wyatt and Mrs. Swindle gave out some positive office referrals to end the year. Have a great summer!

Passionate, caring, inspiring, dedicated and flexible are just a few of the words spoken by her coworkers. I am honored to present Mrs. Monica Garcia as the Tenaha Elementary Teacher of the Year. Last year, the administration team chose our TOY, but this year, our staff members were able to visit and observe other teacher’s rooms as part of a team challenge and I wanted their input on who they thought should represent them this year. Thankfully the staff and I were on the same page! Mrs. Garcia is in her second year at Tenaha teaching our 2nd graders. This will be her 6th year in education. She has also taught 3rd grade and ESL at previous schools. Mrs. Garcia has her Masters in Education from Stephen F. Austin University with a focus on ESL/Bilingual Education.

For the past eight years, Mrs. Cloudy has been teaching across different levels, ranging from elementary to high school. Mrs Cloudy says that “ Education is not just my profession; it's my passion.
Throughout her career, her main goal has been to provide a safe, culturally inviting classroom where all students feel valued, loved, and accepted. She has been honored with awards such as Elementary Teacher of the Year in 2017-2018 and the Superintendent STAAR Award in 2022-2023 for exceptional teaching and high test scores.
Beyond the classroom, She is active in her community and church, She is a proud member of Abundant Love Ministries. She also serves as a board member of the Shelby County Welfare Board and the current sponsor for Tenaha's Junior Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. Cloudy is currently pursuing a Master's in School Counseling at Lamar University.
Both of our Teachers of the Year will be recognized this afternoon by the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce at the annual Shelby County Teachers Banquet. Congratulations to you both; thank you for everything you do to make TISD a better place!!
